The story
Every story starts somewhere ordinary.It started in Pingxiang, China — a town that builds bikes the way Detroit once built cars. Jack Yao grew up in the middle of it, taking bikes apart before he could properly ride them.
From a kid who loved bikes to the ebikes you'll trust
After college, he did what came naturally: he started his own ebike factory. Then came the e-bike boom — and a flood of machines with impressive numbers on paper and cheap parts underneath. Jack watched riders get burned: "60-mile range" that died at 25. Brands that vanished after the sale.
BirdSky is a team of engineers and riders spread across [City] and [City] — half of us arguing about torque on Slack, all of us sick of hype. We didn't set out to build a brand. We set out to build the e-bike we wanted to own: honest range, real hill-climbing, a battery you can carry upstairs, and a support line that picks up.
So we tested the way skeptics do. We rode range tests until the motor cut out — then published the conditions. We braked in the rain until we trusted the discs. We sent pre-production bikes to a schoolteacher, a nurse, and a 62-year-old who swore she was done riding. When they broke things, we rebuilt them. When they told the truth, we listened.
